Thomas Graetz is a third-year Industrial Design student at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York.
Being driven by his passion for basketball, Thomas’ journey originated through a competitive and endless desire to be the best athlete he can possibly be, striving for incremental success with consistency on a day-to-day basis.
Having played at the some of the highest levels of junior basketball in Australia, and now collegiate basketball in America, Thomas has learnt to excel proficiently within a team, understanding different personalities, and how he can push individuals to function efficiently through leadership and cooperation, whilst also focusing on his individual performance and personal drive.
Thomas’ passion for design began with an obsession in athletic footwear, where he became fixated on the functional qualities of a sneaker’s performance and durability, questioning how that form can be catered to a mass-market, whilst also working for the individual.
In his spare time, you can find Thomas surfing at the beach, on the basketball court, or at his local shoe store.
